North Conway, NH (July 11, 2023) — The Mount Washington Valley Recreation Path is now officially open, and the Valley is more connected than ever.
Spanning 2.9 miles, the Rec Path offers a non-motorized outdoor recreational space that connects Cranmore Mountain Resort, Main Street North Conway and Settlers Green. Designed to provide free access to hiking and mountain biking trails, the path is a family-friendly haven for outdoor enthusiasts seeking casual adventure or an opportunity for people to utilize an environment-friendly transportation route.
Last fall, Cranmore pledged to donate $20,000 over a two-year period to help finish Phase I of the construction, showcasing their support for this important community project. This latest contribution marks another step in the resort’s ongoing commitment to community-based initiatives. Since 2018, Cranmore has helped raise over $17,000 for the Rec Path alone, through their annual concert fundraiser, Rock the Rec.
Cranmore will provide free parking and convenient restroom facilities for guests wishing to use the path. For those who want to enjoy the path via bike, Cranmore offers a top-notch selection of bike rentals, including Rossignol Enduro All Track Full Suspension Mountain Bikes, NORCO Sight A2 Full Suspension Bikes, and NORCO Fluid VLT Pedal Assist E-Bikes. Helmets and other gear are also available. These high-quality rental options ensure visitors can easily access equipment for a true North Conway biking experience. All rental bikes will be pre-teched and ready for pickup.
After using the path, guests are invited to quench their thirst and appetites at the Alpine Cafe & Bar, located at the Artist Falls Lodge. From pizza and fresh summer salads to craft cocktails and local beer, it is the perfect setting to relax and unwind.
“We take pride in our ongoing support for community initiatives such as the Rec Path,” said Ben Wilcox, President and General Manager of Cranmore Mountain Resort. “Through contributions like these, Cranmore remains dedicated to creating recreational opportunities and fostering a vibrant community spirit.”
