Join REI for a hands-on class covering the basics of backcountry touring, open to both skiers and snowboarders! You’ll develop essential skills and get familiar with the equipment needed to start your touring adventure. The session includes an overview of backcountry gear options, followed by on-snow practice at Cranmore Mountain. REI’s expert instructors will teach uphill travel techniques, smooth transitions between climbing and descending, and how to choose and fit the right gear. The program fee includes backcountry rental gear and uphill passes for the day at Cranmore. Participants should have experience skiing or snowboarding at a blue square level or above.
Tickets are $149 for REI members and $179 for non-members
