North Conway, NH (July 25, 2023) Get ready for the barbecue party of the summer on Saturday, Aug. 5 at Cranmore Mountain Resort. Cranmore’s newest summer event, Smoke on the Mountain, will have classic cookout eats with a focus on local ingredients and picturesque views of the Valley from the Meister Hut. This family-friendly event is the first of its kind in the Valley, offering a dining experience at the summit of Cranmore.

Guests will take the Scenic Chairlift up to the summit, where the Meister Hut will be waiting with lawn games, a cash bar and live music from local musician, Ryan St. Onge. The menu, created by Cranmore’s Food and Beverage Director and Chef Mike Rennie, is filled with an array of delicious smoked meats, sides, drinks and dessert.

Menu

  • Reverse Seared Rib Eye Steaks
  • Cherry Smoked St. Louis Pork Ribs
  • Sweet & Spicy Honey Lime Chicken Lollipops
  • Grilled Veggie & Goat Cheese Salad from Native Maine Produce
  • Local Corn on the Cob
  • Baked Potato Bar (bacon, cheese, sour cream, scallions) from Green Thumb Farms
  • Chilled Watermelon
  • Cranapalooza Snow Cones
  • Fresh Brewed Iced Tea & Lemonade

Rennie has been working in the food industry since he was 14 years old. Throughout his decades of experience in the culinary industry, he says he has always had a love for barbecue.

“Barbecue is a hobby and passion of mine,” he explained, “I love the whole process of it. When I have a family gathering, I always offer to barbecue and I would love for this to become an annual event. What’s better than a barbecue with beautiful views from the top of a mountain?”

Smoke on the Mountain will give guests a taste of what’s in store for the innovative dining plans that will be coming to Cranmore this winter, notably at the upcoming food pavilion in new Fairbank Lodge (set to open by Winter 2023). Rennie said he has already begun planning menus for Cranmore’s various dining locations and expressed his excitement for guests to enjoy the classic “ski area staples’’ as well as other creative options that will be new this year.

Tickets are $50 per person and $25 for ages 12 and under. Advanced registration is required. For more information or to reserve a ticket visit the Cranmore event calendar.
