Bike for Books Returns
Bike for Books fundraiser for Pope Memorial Library

The highly anticipated Bike for Books event is back and ready to welcome riders of all levels for a day of excitement and adventure at Cranmore Mountain Resort from 10am – 1pm, on Sunday, September 24th. Presented by White Mountain Oil and hosted by Cranmore Mountain Resort, this year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Participants have the option to take on the challenge of Cranmore’s lift-serviced downhill bike park or enjoy the newly opened Mount Washington Valley Rec Path. Riders competing in the downhill option will compete to complete as many laps as possible, with prizes awarded to riders in three age groups: 12 & under, 13 to 18, and 18+. Downhill registration is $35 for adults (13 & up) and $20 for kids (12 and under).

For those seeking a more leisurely adventure, participants have the option to cruise the 2.9 mile paved MWV Rec Path. Located between Cranmore Mountain and Hemlock Lane near Walmart. This option is available for a suggested donation. Riders will be given a passport at registration that will allow them to collect stamps at different stops along the path, making it an interactive and an enjoyable journey for everyone.

Event Chair, Victoria Laracy expressed her enthusiasm for the return of Bike for Books, stating, "We're excited to bring Bike for Books back and look forward to seeing people of all ages join us for a fun day of riding. The support from our sponsors, including White Mountain Oil and Cranmore Mountain Resort, has been instrumental in making this event possible."

“This event aligns perfectly with Cranmore’s commitment to fostering a vibrant community spirit.” Said Cranmore Marketing Director, Becca Deschenes. “We take pride in our ongoing support for community events and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle for all.”

In addition to biking, the event will include face painting and complimentary donuts, cookies, and pizza for participants beginning at 12:30pm. Rental bikes will also be available on-site at Cranmore, or can be reserved online, in advance at cranmore.com or by calling 603-356-5544 ext. 5242.

Participants are encouraged to be mindful of the environment and bring their own water bottles. Water stations will be set up throughout the venue to ensure everyone stays hydrated throughout the day.

Registration for Bike for Books is now open at PopeLibraryNH.org/bike-for-books. Those who register before August 30 have the option to purchase an event t-shirt for $10 each. Those interested in volunteering can reach out to the library to learn more about the opportunity. A volunteer meeting will be held in August to coordinate the event's logistics.
