Cranmore’s Guide to Improving Your Mountain Biking Skills

Now that you know how to get started at Cranmore’s Bike Park, it’s time to find your flow. Start improving your skills this summer by following these key tips from our summer operations team.

What are your top 5 tips for improving your mountain biking skills?

  1. Start small and work your way up.

  2. The more you ride, the more comfortable you feel and the better you get. The most important thing is just getting out there.

  3. Ride with friends! It's a social thing after all. It’s the perfect environment for you to watch and learn, ask questions, build a community that will push you, and discover how fun the sport really is.

  4. Know your body and listen to it: if you're tired, don’t push it.

  5. It's okay to get off your bike, walk around and scope out an obstacle before tackling it. Just follow the rules of the road, and make sure you're out of the way for those riding the trail.
