Cranmore’s Second Annual Mountain Bike Fest Returns July 12 with New Women’s Skills Clinic

Cranmore Mountain Resort welcomes riders of every level to its second annual Mountain Bike Fest on Sunday, July 12.

The free, all-day event runs 9am–3pm on the Fairbank Lodge Patio and brings together guided group rides, a vendor village, live music and a BBQ. New this year is a Women’s Skills Clinic, built to provide a supportive space to build confidence and improve technique on the trail.

The day starts with guided group rides 9–11am, led by White Mountains NEMBA and Ride NOCO. Rides depart from the Rec Path parking lot and head out onto the East Side Trails, with Ride NOCO leading group rides through the Hurricane Mountain Zone. All ability levels are welcome.

From noon to 3pm, riders can browse a vendor village featuring local and regional brands (including Stio, Sun & Ski, Mountain Sports Lab, White Mountains NEMBA, Ride NOCO, Bivo, TRP Cycling, Julbo, Leatt and Skratch Labs), while enjoying a BBQ and live music from the Family Van Duo. Members of White Mountains NEMBA and Ride NOCO can also take advantage of $25 Bike Park tickets during the event.

At 1pm, the spotlight shifts to the Women’s Skills Clinic. The clinic is free admission, but participants need a Bike Park ticket or valid season pass and must register in advance, as space is limited. Open to riders of all skill levels, the clinic focuses on building confidence, sharpening technique and connecting with a community of women who ride. Registration is available at cranmore.com/events/mountain-bike-fest.

“This clinic gives women a space to push their limits, learn from each other and have fun doing it,” said Sara Ellen Godek, one of the clinic’s three instructors and the 2023 US Open Cat 19+ Women’s Downhill Champion. “Whether you’re brand new to the bike or chasing your next level, you’ll leave with more confidence than you came with.”

Godek will be joined by Sara Thomson of Mountain Sports Lab, who specializes in bike service and fitting, and Leila Moreau, a former collegiate racer for Fort Lewis College who now coaches and rides throughout the region. Together, the three bring years of riding and coaching experience to the clinic.

Local mountain bike lifestyle brand Full Gas Apparel is sponsoring free t-shirts for the clinic. Women who register by Wednesday, July 8 will receive a complimentary shirt at the event.
